MINUTES OF THE GILBERT TOWN COUNCIL, IN REGULAR MEETING OF TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2021 AT 5:30 PM, GILBERT PUBLIC SAFETY TRAINING FACILITY, ECHO ROOM 108, 50 E CIVIC CENTER DRIVE, GILBERT, ARIZONA COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Brigette Peterson, Vice Mayor Yung Koprowski, Councilmembers Scott Anderson, Laurin Hendrix, Scott September, Kathy Tilque, and Aimee Yentes COUNCIL ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Patrick Banger, Town Clerk Chaveli Herrera, Town Attorney Christopher Payne AGENDA ITEM CALL TO ORDER Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. RECESS SPECIAL MEETING AND RECONVENE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION A MOTION was made by Councilmember September, seconded by Councilmember Anderson to recess Special Meeting and reconvene in Executive Session pursuant to: a) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3), (4), (7), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with Town representatives concerning alternatives for the design and construction and associated acquisition impacts for PR0620 (Western Powerline Trail alignment near Greenfield Rd). b) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3), legal advice from the Town Attorney and designees and discussion with Town representatives concerning an outside investigation into hiring practices and use of Town resources. Motion carried 6-0 with Vice Mayor Koprowski absent at the time of the vote. RECESS EXECUTIVE SESSION AND CONVENE IN REGULAR MEETING A MOTION was made by Councilmember Yentes, seconded by Councilmember Yentes to recess Executive Session and convene in Regular Meeting. The Executive Session was recessed at 6:37 p.m. ADJOURN REGULAR MEETING AND RECONVENE EXECUTIVE SESSION The Regular Meeting was adjourned at 9:40 p.m. ADJOURN EXECUTIVE SESSION AND RECONVENE SPECIAL MEETING 1 A MOTION was made by Councilmember September, seconded by Councilmember Anderson to adjourn Executive Session and reconvene Special Meeting.
