MINUTES OF THE GILBERT TOWN COUNCIL, IN SPECIAL MEETING OF TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2022 AT 5:15 PM, GILBERT PUBLIC SAFETY TRAINING FACILITY, ECHO ROOM 108, 6860 SOUTH POWER ROAD, GILBERT, ARIZONA COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Brigette Peterson, Vice Mayor Aimee Yentes, Councilmembers Scott Anderson, Yung Koprowski, Scott September, and Kathy Tilque COUNCIL ABSENT: Councilmember Laurin Hendrix STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Patrick Banger, Assistant Town Manager Dawn Prince, Town Attorney Christopher Payne, Deputy Clerk Judy Martinez AGENDA ITEM CALL TO ORDER Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 5:17 p.m. ROLL CALL Deputy Clerk Martinez declared a quorum was present RECESS SPECIAL MEETING AND RECONVENE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION A MOTION was made by Councilmember Tilque, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to recess the Special Meeting and reconvene in Executive Session pursuant to: A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(3), (4), and (7), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with Town representatives concerning legal aspects of right-of-way acquisition process and legal implications of alternatives for the design and construction of 1 WW1060/ WW1246/ WA1546 Western Canal Corridor Analysis (western canal between Lindsay and Gilbert Roads). Motion carried 5-0; with Vice Mayor Yentes absent during the vote. ADJOURN EXECUTIVE SESSION AND RECONVENE SPECIAL MEETING A MOTION was made by Vice Mayor Yentes, seconded by Councilmember Tilque, to adjourn Executive Session and reconvene Special Meeting. Motion carried 6-0.
