MINUTES OF THE GILBERT TOWN COUNCIL, IN SPECIAL MEETING OF TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2022 AT 5:00 PM, GILBERT PUBLIC SAFETY TRAINING FACILITY, ATLAS AUDITORIUM, 6860 S. POWER ROAD, GILBERT, ARIZONA COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Brigette Peterson, Vice Mayor Aimee Yentes, Councilmembers Yung Koprowski, Scott September, and Kathy Tilque COUNCIL ABSENT: Councilmembers Scott Anderson and Laurin Hendrix STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Patrick Banger, Deputy Clerk Judy Martinez, Town Attorney Christopher Payne AGENDA ITEM CALL TO ORDER Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 5:03 p.m. ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS 1. WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS BY MAYOR OF GILBERT BRIGETTE PETERSON Mayor Peterson welcomed everyone in attendance and introduced The Worshipful The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Alderman Stephen Ross and Gilbert Sister Cities President Greg Tilque. She invited them to come down and join her at the table. She discussed the work of Gilbert Sister Cities and the relationship with Northern, Ireland. 2. REMARKS BY THE WORSHIPFUL THE MAYOR OF ANTRIM AND NEWTOWNABBEY ALDERMAN STEPHEN ROSS 1 The Worshipful The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland Alderman Stephen Ross discussed his relationship with Gilbert Sister Cities and goals of the partnership. 2 3. REMARKS BY PRESIDENT OF GILBERT SISTER CITIES GREG TILQUE Greg Tilque, President of Gilbert Sister Cities, discussed the history of the program and how the partnership helped students. PRESENTATIONS; PROCLAMATIONS 4. PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT – Official signing ceremony of the Partnership Agreement recognizing the 24-year relationship between Gilbert Sister Cities, the Town of Gilbert and Antrim and Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland. Mayor Peterson, The Worshipful The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Alderman Stephen Ross, and Sister Cities President Greg Tilque signed the partnership agreement. The group exchanged gifts, then took photos together and photos with the Council.
