MINUTES OF THE GILBERT TOWN COUNCIL, IN SPECIAL MEETING OF MONDAY, MAY 6, 2024 AT 4:00 PM, MUNICIPAL BUILDING I, COMMUNITY ROOM 202, 50 E. CIVIC CENTER DRIVE, GILBERT, ARIZONA COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Brigette Peterson, Vice Mayor Scott Anderson, Councilmembers Chuck Bongiovanni, Bobbi Buchli, Yung Koprowski, Kathy Tilque and Jim Torgeson COUNCIL ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Patrick Banger, Town Attorney Christopher Payne, Deputy Town Clerk Judy Martinez AGENDA ITEM CALL TO ORDER Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m. ROLL CALL Deputy Clerk Judy Martinez declared a quorum present. RECESS SPECIAL MEETING AND RECONVENE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION A MOTION was made by Councilmember Tilque, seconded by Councilmember Buchli, to recess the Special Meeting and reconvene in Executive Session pursuant to: a) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3), (4), (7), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with Town representatives concerning potential acquisition of right of way and easements related to CIP No. 1180 (Warner Road: Power Road to Recker Road); 1 b) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3), (7), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with Town representatives concerning easements and development requirements regarding real property located east of Neely Street and south of the Western Canal.; and c) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3), (4), (7), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with Town representatives concerning legal aspects of development requirements, public improvements, and potential development agreement relating to real property located northwest of the intersection of Williams Field Road and San Tan Parkway; and d) A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(3), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with the Town Attorney and Police Chief regarding legal aspects of investigations and communication protocols. Motion carried 6-0; Councilmember Bongiovanni was absent at time of vote but arrived just after. ADJOURN EXECUTIVE SESSION AND RECONVENE SPECIAL MEETING A MOTION was made by Councilmember Bongiovanni, seconded by Councilmember Torgeson, to adjourn Executive Session and reconvene in Special Meeting. Motion carried 7-0.
