MINUTES OF THE GILBERT TOWN COUNCIL, IN SPECIAL MEETING OF MONDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2024 AT 4:00 PM, MUNICIPAL BUILDING I, COMMUNITY ROOM 202, 50 E. CIVIC CENTER DRIVE, GILBERT, ARIZONA COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Brigette Peterson, Vice Mayor Scott Anderson, Councilmembers Chuck Bongiovanni, Bobbi Buchli, Yung Koprowski, and Jim Torgeson COUNCIL ABSENT: Councilmember Kathy Tilque STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Banger, Town Attorney Christopher Payne, Town Clerk Chaveli Herrera AGENDA ITEM CALL TO ORDER Mayor Peterson called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. ROLL CALL Town Clerk Herrera verified a quorum was present. RECESS SPECIAL MEETING AND RECONVENE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION A MOTION was made by Councilmember Buchli, seconded by Councilmember Koprowski, to recess the Special Meeting and reconvene in Executive Session pursuant to: a) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3), (4), (7), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with Town representatives concerning the legal aspects of the lease agreement for 25 acres of property located near the southwest corner of Higley Road and Queen Creek Road; b) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A)(3), (4), (7), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with Town representatives concerning the legal aspects of the acquisition of right-of-way and easements for the Vaughn Avenue Ventilator project in the Gilbert Heritage District (CIP Project Number RD2190); and 1 c) A.R.S. §§ 38-431.03(A), legal advice from the Town Attorney and discussion and consultation with Town representatives concerning the legal aspects of election security procedures and protocols. Motion carried 6-0. ADJOURN EXECUTIVE SESSION AND RECONVENE SPECIAL MEETING A MOTION was made by Councilmember Koprowski, seconded by Councilmember Buchli, to adjourn Executive Session and reconvene in Special Meeting. Motion carried 6-0.
