President Kucera called the Administration Committee Meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. The Pledge of
Allegiance was recited.
Ehlers, Inc – financial overview
Brian Reilly and Josh Low with Ehlers Public Finance Advisors provided a power point presentation for
The Village of Grantsburg’s Financial Overview and Capital Planning. They discussed with the committee
the current financial state of the Village as well as upcoming projects and their funding needs. Brian will
continue to work with Clerk/Treasurer Meyer to review upcoming project plans to provide guidance on
funding options. No motions made.
Brian and Josh left the meeting.
Pickleball court update
Trustee Peer provided an update on the Rotary Pickleball project to-date. The site design has been updated
to allow for three courts. A grant is being submitted to Rotary to cover the costs of trash receptacles and
tables. DPW Erickson questioned if the group discussed making improvements to the already existing
tennis courts in the Village. The group had not discussed alternative sites at this point. Trustee Peer
explained the site near the campground allowed the group to apply for a Vibrant Spaces Grant since it is a
heavily used area by many groups of people year-round. The grant awards will be announced after May 1st.
Trustee Peer also announced their BINGO fundraising event will be held Sunday, May 7th at Hummer’s
Event Center. No motions made.
Trustee Java joined the meeting.
Hunting on select Village owned parcels
Chief Olson explained to the committee that hunting is not allowable on Village owned parcels per Village
ordinance. He indicated that people have hunted the airport for many years, and they maybe don’t realize it
violates Village ordinance. Chief Olson asked the committee if they would like to continue with no
hunting on Village owned parcels or if they would like to open some properties up to hunters. The
committee discussed and preferred to keep the ordinance as is and in the future, they may open land up for
limited hunting. The committee allowed Chief Olson to post no hunting signs on Village owned properties
including the airport, the dump area, and the lot west of the Grantsburg Rod & Gun Club along Highway
70. No motions made.
THE ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE WILL CONVENE INTO CLOSED SESSION to conduct
the one-year performance evaluation of the Director of Public Works pursuant to Wis. Stats. 19.85
