Campground update
DPW Erickson provided an update on the progress of the campground expansion project.
The Public Works Department will work with Stout Construction to fix the steep grade
created by the new sidewalk installation. Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Longhenry reviewed the
overview of the campground that was included in the packet. The committee discussed
availability for the 2025 season. Clerk/Treasurer Meyer indicated the project must be
completed per grant requirements by June 30th, 2025. Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Longhenry
explained upon completion that the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and
Consumer Protection (DATCP) will perform an inspection which is required before it can be
available for use.
Campground Expansion a) name b) rates c) operations d) fire rings
The committee discussed name options and rates. They felt it would be less confusing to
keep things consistent with the current campground. The rates discussed would be for the
2025 season and future rates would be discussed during the 2026 budget cycle.
Motion by Trustee Addison second by Trustee Campeau to recommend the Village
Board name the campground expansion James N. McNally Campground West and set
rates as follows; daily rates – tent $30, water/electric and electric sites $40, and full
hook-up sites $50, weekly rates tent $150, water/electric and electric sites $200, and
full hook-up sites $250. Motion carried.
The committee discussed current campground use for Watercross and if the campground
expansion would be similarly available for Watercross use in future years. Village staff
reported that currently Watercross uses the campground at no cost. The committee
requested Village staff to determine the cost of water/sewer and electric use for the 2025
event. The committee would like to discuss Watercross use at a future meeting.
At the April Board meeting the Village Board chose to remove the $16,000 campfire rings
from the campground project. A quote for 2 more affordable campfire ring alternatives
were included in the packet.
Motion by Trustee Addison second by Trustee Campeau to recommend the Village
Board approve the purchase of 30 fire rings not to exceed $7,200. Motion carried.
Pool a) user rates b) financials
The committee reviewed the pool user rates that have not been increased since 2012 as
detailed in the packet. Pool Manager Fiedler requested to increase single and family
memberships each by $25.00 and leave all other rates the same. The committee agreed
rates should increase and discussed increasing the daily rate to offset potential additional
costs of the splashpad. Village staff informed the committee that splashpad costs and
operations will be discussed at the Monday, June 9th Administration Committee meeting at
3:00 p.m.
Motion by Trustee Addison second by Trustee Campeau to set single pool
memberships at $75.00, family pool memberships at $175, and daily pool passes to
$6.00 and keep the additional child fee at $5.00 and babysitter fee at $20.00. Motion
carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:35 p.m.
