Village of Grantsburg Plan Commission Meeting Monday, August 14, 2023 The Plan Commission for the Village of Grantsburg met on Monday, August 14, 2023, at 5:25 p.m. in the Village Board Room, 316 S. Brad Street, Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Present: Chairman/President Terrance Kucera, Trustee Greg Peer, Members Brent Blomberg, Tyler Myers, LuAnn Ebersold, Angie Anderson. Absent: Member Natalie Finch Others present: Police Chief Mitch Olson, Director of Public Works (DPW) John Erickson, Deputy Clerk/Treasurer Allison Longhenry, Jeremiah Bonse Call to Order Chairman/President Kucera called the Plan Commission meeting to order at 5:25 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Minutes Motion by Member Blomberg, second by Member Ebersold to approve the minutes of the July 10, 2023, Plan Commission meeting with amendment to adjournment motion as suggested by Member Blomberg. Motion passed unanimously. CUP application (continued from June 12, 2023) – Bonse Chairman/President Kucera asked C/T Meyer if items previously requested by the Commission had been completed. C/T Meyer verified current rabies shot information has been received for all dogs owned by Jeremiah Bonse and a fence to contain the dogs has been installed at the Bonse residence and verified by Police Chief Olson. Bonse was asked if he had anything to add or if he had any questions. He did not. Chairman/President Kucera asked the Commission members if they had any concerns or questions. Member Ebersold asked how many dogs Bonse expected to have at any one time. Bonse explained he would not have more than two (2) litters of puppies at any given time. Motion by Member Myers, second by Trustee Peer to recommend the Village Board approve a Conditional Use Permit for Russ Bonse, owner, and Jeremiah and Josi Bonse, applicants, to run their Wood Lake Kennel business at 978 S. Russell Street with a limit of no more than ten (10) adult dogs and two (2) litters of puppies at any one time. Motion passed unanimously. Façade Plan – Grantsburg Fitness & Performance Tyler Myers, owner of Grantsburg Fitness & Performance, 705 State Rd 70 W, presented a plan to redo the front of his building, including new siding and windows. He would like the Commission’s approval to move forward with applying for financial assistance under the Façade Improvement Plan with Northwest Regional Planning Commission. Motion by Member Blomberg, second by Member Anderson to approve the Facade Improvement Plan presented by Tyler Myers, owner, for new siding and new windows at Grantsburg Fitness & Performance located at 705 State Rd 70 W. Motion passed unanimously. Member Myers abstained. Adjournment. Motion at 6:53 p.m. by Trustee Peer, second by Member Ebersold to adjourn the Plan Commission meeting.
