Public Safety Committee

The Village Public Safety Committee met on Thursday, December 5 at 5:00 p.m. in the Village Board room, 316 Brad Street S, Grantsburg, WI 54840. Present: Chairman Greg Peer Trustee John McNally Trustee Diane Barton Others: Clerk/Treasurer Sheila Meyer Police Chief Jared Woody Officer Andrew Tyler Police Office Administrator Larissa Lee Chairman Greg Peer called the Public Safety Committee Meeting to order at 5:03 p.m. Property Maintenance questions & review. The committee reviewed updated photos of eight properties while Chief Woody, Officer Tyler, and Admin Lee provided status updates of each. Each property reviewed had received two letters but no citations. The committee discussed the photos to determine next course of action for each property. After reviewing, the committee directed Police Department staff to issue four initial citations, four properties were tabled until spring, and one property was determined to have met the ordinance standards. The committee will assess weather in early spring to determine when the next Public Safety Committee meeting will be scheduled to review property maintenance. The committee would like to have the next meeting prior to the 2025 spring clean-up event. The meeting was adjourned at 5:29 p.m. Allison Longhenry Deputy Clerk/Treasurer
