City Council

CITY COUNCIL MEETING February 11 , 2019 The Greenville City Council convened in the Council Chamber at City Hall on Monday, February 11, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. for a regular meeting. Mayor Dexter McLendon called the meeting to order. City Clerk-Treasurer Dee H. Blackmon called the roll and recorded the following members present: Mayor McLendon, Councilmembers Bryan Reynolds, Ed Sims, Tommy Ryan, Jimmy Lawson. Councilmember Boris Thigpen was absent. Mayor McLendon led those attending in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. Councilmember Ryan delivered the invocation. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mayor McLendon advised each councilmember had received for review a copy of the proposed minutes for the Regular Council Meeting held on January 28, 2019. He asked if there were any additions, deletions or amendments to the minutes as presented. Councilmember Lawson moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes and approve the minutes for January 28, 2019 as drafted . Councilmember Sims seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion carried with a unanimous vote of the Council. NEW BUSINESS: APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURES: Councilmember Reynolds made a motion to approve the following expenditures: EMERGENCY REPORTING - $2,028.00 (BUDGETED ITEM) ANNUAL FIRE PACKAGE SUBSCRIPTION CFS INSPECTIONS - $1,166.00 (BUDGETED ITEM) LADDER INSPECTION MIDDLETON OIL - $2166.66 (BUDGETED ITEM) OIL FOR STREET & SANITATION AND 500 GALLONS OF DIESEL FOR LANDFILL AMAZON - $$1,438.80 (BUDGETED ITEM TO BE PAID FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND) 120 DOUBLE BRACED METAL FOLDING CHAIRS Councilmember Ryan seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion carried with unanimous vote of the Council. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND ADJOURNMENT: Mayor McLendon announced the next regular council meeting will be held Monday, February 25, 2019.
