CITY COUNCIL MEETING February 25, 2019 The Greenville City Council convened in the Council Chamber at City Hall on Monday, February 25, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. for a regular meeting. Mayor Dexter McLendon called the meeting to order. City Clerk-Treasurer Dee H. Blackmon called the roll and recorded the following members present: Mayor McLendon, Councilmembers Bryan Reynolds, Ed Sims, Tommy Ryan, Jimmy Lawson and Boris Thigpen. Mayor McLendon led those attending in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. Councilmember Ryan delivered the invocation. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mayor McLendon advised each councilmember had received for review a copy of the proposed minutes for the Regular Council Meeting held on February 11, 2019. He asked if there were any additions, deletions or amendments to the minutes as presented. Councilmember Ryan moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes and approve the minutes for February 11, 2019 as drafted . Councilmember Lawson seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion carried with a unanimous vote of the Council. NEW BUSINESS: APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURES: Councilmember Thigpen made a motion to approve the following expenditures: ALLIED FENCE COMPANY, INC. - $1,600.00 (TO BE PAID FROM DONATION LINE ITEM) REPAIR KENNEL GATES AND POSTS AT ANIMAL SHELTER GREENVILLE TIRE CO., LLC - $1,539.16 TWO TIRES FOR PUBLIC WORKS UNIT #92 MIDSOUTH PAVING INC. - $1,698.90 ASPHALT FOR DIGOUTS AND PATCHING AD STARR - $1,311.08 (BUDGETED ITEM) BASEBALLS AND SOFTBALLS D&T EMERGENCY LIGHTING - $1,220.00 AMBER LIGHTS AND INSTALLATION FOR PUBLIC WORKS UNIT #80 MIDDLETON OIL - $1,152.75 (BUDGETED ITEM) 500 GALLONS OF DIESEL FOR LANDFILL SUNBELT FIRE - $1,289.95 (BUDGETED ITEM) FIRE DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY & SPORTING GOODS - $1,510.00 (BUDGETED ITEM) DUNBAR BASKETBALL TROPHIES AND MEDALS SOUTHERN SOFTWARE, INC. - $6,452.00 (BUDGETED ITEM) SOFTWARE SUPPORT RENEWAL FOR POLICE DEPT. Councilmember Reynolds seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion carried with unanimous vote of the Council. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND ADJOURNMENT: Mayor McLendon announced the next regular council meeting will be held Monday, March 11, 2019.
