CITY COUNCIL MEETING January 27, 2020 The Greenville City Council convened in the Council Chamber at City Hall on Monday, January 27, 2020, at 5:30 p.m. for a regular Council meeting. Mayor Dexter McLendon called the meeting to order. City Clerk-Treasurer Dee H. Blackmon called the roll and recorded the following members present: Mayor McLendon, Councilmembers Bryan Reynolds, Ed Sims, Tommy Ryan, Jimmy Lawson and Boris Thigpen. Mayor McLendon led those attending in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. Councilmember Ryan delivered the invocation. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mayor McLendon advised each councilmember had received for review a copy of the proposed minutes for the Regular Council Meeting held on January 13, 2020. He asked if there were any additions, deletions or amendments to the minutes as presented. Councilmember Lawson moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes and approve the minutes for January 13, 2020, as drafted . Councilmember Sims seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion carried with a unanimous vote of the Council. NEW BUSINESS: APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURES: Councilmember Ryan made a motion to approve the following expenditures: LEE ELECTRIC - $11,860.00 (TO BE PAID FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND) 10 TON TRANE HVAC UNIT FOR DUNBAR GYM NFPA - $ 1,345.00 (BUDGETED ITEM) NATIONAL FIRE CODE SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL BSN SPORTS - $1,104.57 (BUDGETED ITEM) RECREATION BASKETBALL SUPPLIES – SCOREBOOKS, BALLS & PINNIES MUSIC ALLEY - $9,976.00 – (TO BE PAID FROM RITZ ACCOUNT) SOUND SYSTEM FOR RITZ THEATER INGRAM EQUIPMENT - $1,507.25 FLIPPER PARTS FOR GARBAGE TRUCK (SANITATION DEPARTMENT) DENNIS MOORE CONSTRUCTION - $4,329.74 (BUDGETED ITEM TO BE PAID FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND) REPAIRS TO GUTTERS AND SKYLIGHTS AT THE AIRPORT Councilmember Reynolds seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion passed with unanimous vote of the Council. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND ADJOURNMENT: Mayor McLendon announced the next regular council meeting will be held Monday, February 10, 2020.
