A RESOLUTION REQUESTING A FORMAL AMENDMENT FROM ADECA FOR CDBG PROJECT # LR-ED-PF-12-001 (MARY DRIVE) Mayor McLendon noted a Pubilc Hearing was held on December 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Council Chambers, regarding a formal amendment to the CDBG Project # LR-ED-PF-12-001 (Mary Drive). No comments were recorded. He called on City Clerk Dee Blackmon and she explained this amendment reduces the amount of jobs required in the application from 100+ to 60. The reason a reduction is necessary is that Zaxby’s was planning to occupy a portion of the parking lot in front of Tractor Supply, which would have created the jobs needed to meet the requirement for closeout of the grant. Zaxby’s did not locate there for reasons out of our control. Approving this amendment will save the City $500,000 by not having to pay the grant funds back, as well as, the city will be able to apply for CDBG grants again. Mayor McLendon asked for the pleasure of the council. Councilmember West moved to adopt Resolution 2020-7 4 approving a formal amendment reducing the number of jobs from 100+ to 60 from ADECA for CDBG project (Mary Drive) .
