CITY COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 10 , 2022 The Greenville City Council convened in the Council Chamber of City Hall on Monday, January 10, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. for a regular Council meeting. Mayor Dexter McLendon called the meeting to order. City Clerk – Treasurer Dee Blackmon called the roll and recorded the following members present: Mayor McLendon, Councilmembers Ed Sims, Joseph West, Jae’Ques Brown, and Boris Thigpen. Councilmember Bryan Reynolds was absent. Mayor McLendon led those attending in the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. Councilmember Brown delivered the invocation. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mayor McLendon advised each councilmember had received for review a copy of the proposed minutes for the Regular Council Meeting held on December 20, 2021. He asked if there were any additions, deletions or amendments to the minutes as presented. Councilmember West moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes and approve the minutes for December 20, 2021, as drafted . Councilmember Sims seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion carried with a unanimous vote of the Council. NEW BUSINESS: APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURES: Councilmember Brown made a motion to approve the following expenditures: EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT PROFESSIONALS - $4,586.00 (BUDGETED EXPENSE) TWO (2) SETS OF TURN-OUT GEAR FOR FIRE DEPT. NAFECO - $26,000.00 (BUDGETED EXPENSE TO BE REIMBURSED BY MID SOUTH RC&D GRANT) FIRE EXTINGUISHER TRAINING SYSTEM FOR FIRE DEPT. GREENVILLE AUTO CLINIC - $ 3,853.00 REPLACE TRANSMISSION, PARTS AND LABOR FOR PD UNIT 269 REVEAL - $3,708.00 (BUDGETED EXPENSE) CAMERA SOFTWARE LICENSE SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE FOR POLICE DEPT. LOOKOUT - $4,990.00 (TO BE REIMBURSED WITH CSX GRANT) THREE (3) SPY III PORTABLE ALARM SYSTEMS FOR POLICE DEPT. STARWIND SOFTWARE - $37,763.97 (BUDGETED EXPENSE) TWO (2) STARWIND CUSTOM SERVERS FOR POLICE DEPT. Councilmember Thigpen seconded the motion. Mayor McLendon announced the motion passed with unanimous vote of the Council. OTHER BUSINESS: WEED AND DEBRIS VIOLATIONS: ANNOUNCEMENTS AND ADJOURNMENT: Mayor McLendon announced the next council meeting will be held Monday January 24, 2022.
