Call to Order Benjamin Beck, Council President 2. Pledge of Allegiance: Flag Salute 3. Roll Call: Paul Hamill – Participated by phone Hal Johnson Martha Johnson Paul Miller Casey Shilling Steve Thompson Steve Williams Also present: Mary Jane Hirt Ben Beck Becky Savchuk Stephen Harakal Linda Zuschlag Ben Beil Linda Alcorn Tracy Beil Kelly Lema Evan Hereford Staff: Media: Jasson Urey, Borough Manager Caleb Stright, Record-Argus Natalie Eastwood, Sharon Herald 4. Public Comments – None. 5. Nomination and Election of Chair Benjamin Beck asked for nominations. Paul Miller nominated Steve Williams. Steve Williams nominated Paul Miller. Nominations were closed. Motion by Paul Miller, seconded by Steve Thompson to appoint Stephen Williams as Chair. Motion did not carry 3-4, with Hal Johnson, Martha Johnson, Casey Shilling, and Steve Williams voting in opposition. Motion by Steve Williams, seconded by Hal Johnson to appoint Paul Miller as Chair. Motion carried 6-1, with Paul Miller voting in opposition. Paul Miller then ran the rest of the meeting. 6. Nomination and Election of Vice Chair 1 Borough of Greenville Council Minutes 06-11-18 Paul Miller asked for nominations. Hal Johnson nominated Steve Williams. Nominations were closed. Motion by Hal Johnson, seconded by Steve Thompson to appoint Steve Williams as Vice Chair. Motion carried 7-0. 7. Nomination and Election of Secretary/Treasurer Paul Miller asked for nominations. Casey Shilling nominated Martha Johnson. Martha Johnson nominated Hal Johnson. Nominations were closed. Motion by Casey Shilling, seconded by Paul Hamill to appoint Martha Johnson as Secretary/Treasurer. Motion carried 6-0 with Martha Johnson abstaining. 8. Meeting Schedule The meeting dates of June 28th, July 12th, July 26th, August 9th, and August 23 were set. The meetings will take place on the aforementioned dates at 7:00 p.m. in the Senior Center. 9. Committee Assignments Borough Government Research Committee: Paul Hamill and Casey Shilling. Homerule Research Committee: Steve Thompson and Steve Williams. 10. Any Other Business – None. 11. Public Comments: Tracy Beil – Thanked the Commission and wished them well. Evan Hereford – Thanked the Commission and wished them well. 12. Commission Comments Steve Williams - Really excited to get started and to participate in the study. Steve Thompson – Hopes that the study is a success. Hal Johnson – Would like to see as much public involvement as possible. Casey Shilling – Really excited to get to work on the project. Paul Miller – Thanked the group for the Chair nomination. Also, is really excited to hopefully get it right for Greenville. 17. Adjournment Adjourned meeting at 7:52pm.
