Home Rule Study Commission Borough of Greenville Minutes of the Meeting held June 28, 2018 at 7:00PM Greenville Senior Center 1. Call to Order Paul Miller, Commission Chairman 2. Pledge of Allegiance: Flag Salute 3. Roll Call: Paul Hamill Hal Johnson Martha Johnson Paul Miller Casey Shilling Steve Thompson Steve Williams Also present: Mary Jane Hirt, Ben Beck, Lyle Huffman, Tracy Beil, Sean Hall, Lisa Hamill Media: Caleb Stright, Record-Argus 4. Public Comments: Sean Hall congratulated the commission on being elected and suggested the appointment of alternate members to the commission. 5. Minutes: Corrections were made to the minutes of the meeting held June 13, 2018. Minutes were approved as corrected. 6. Old Business: None 7. New Business: Dr. Mary Jane Hirt presented on “Borough Government in Pennsylvania”. Casey Shilling was excused during the presentation. A motion was made by Paul Hamill and seconded by Steve Thompson to add the following meeting dates to the 2018 HRSC calendar: September 13, September 27, October 11, October 25 all at 7:00 PM as well as three neighborhood meetings to be held between November 1 – December 13 with sites and times TBA. The motion carried 6-0. 8. Public Comments: Tracy Beil – Offered her assistance on committees formed by the commission. Sean Hall – Also offered to serve on a committee. 12. Good of the Order: Martha Johnson – Thanked Dr. Hirt and eagerly anticipates moving forward. Paul Hamill – Thanked Dr. Hirt. Steve Williams – Thanked Dr. Hirt and is relieved to see that there are many resources available to the commission. Steve Thompson – Acknowledged that the task ahead is daunting but he believes the commission is capable of doing well. Hal Johnson – Thanked Dr. Hirt for her presentation.
