Home Rule Study Commission Borough of Gre3enville Minutes of Meeting held Jan. 24, 2019 Greenville Senior Service Center 1. Call to Order, by Paul Miller, commission chairman. 2. Pledge of Allegiance led by Steve Williams 3. Roll Call Paul Hamill , excused absence Hal Johnson present Martha Johnson, absent Paul Miller, present Casey Shilling, absent Steve Thompson, present Steve Williams, present Also attending,: Borough Manager Jasson Urey, Mayor Even Hereford, Tracy Beil, Caleb Stright 4. Public Comments None 5. Minutes Steve Williams moved and Steve Thompson second that the Jan. 10, 2019, minutes be approved. Motion approved. 6. Old Business None 7. New Business Chairman Paul Miller presented and the commission reviewed a list of article from the Model City Home Rule Charter. Miller noted the such sections as the preamble, powers, vacancies; emergency powers, independent auditor, conflict of interest, and severability would require little or no discussion. 8. Public Comments A Sugar Township resident asked to explain Home Rule. Paul Miller, Steve Williams, and Hal Johnson explained. 9. Good or the Order Hal Johnson proposed a suggestion box at the March 23 Business Expo. Visitors would be invited to submit their suggestions for identifying Greenville as a borough, town, city, or other designation. 10. Adjournment.
