MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF GREENVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. 1. Call to Order Council President Longiotti called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. 2. Flag Salute: 3. Roll Call: Pete Longiotti, Council President David Henderson, Vice President Pamela Auchter, Councilor Theodore Jones, Councilor Joanne Price, Councilor Jasson Urey, Councilor Henry Mueller, Councilor - absent Landis Erwin, Jr. Councilor - absent James Ingley, Jr. Councilor – absent Richard H. Miller, Mayor Also present was Joe Joseph, Borough Solicitor and Ryan T. Eggleston, Borough Manager 4. Public Comments/Public Participation No comments 5. New Business a. Adoption of the 2008 budget Councilor Price moved, seconded by Councilor Henderson to adopt the 2008 budget. Mayor Miller distributed a handout entitled “Budget Message to Greenville Borough Council”. He read his statement and requested the council use a portion of the fund balance to reduce property taxes and suggested a 10 mill decrease. No discussion followed. A motion was on the floor and a roll call vote was taken. Advertise Ordinance 1474 - Tax rate for General Purposes for 2008 Councilor Henderson moved, seconded by Councilor Urey to authorize the Borough Manger to advertise Ordinance 1474 – Tax rate for General Purposes for 2008. Motion approved. c. Advertise Ordinance 1475 – Tax rate for Indebtedness for 2008 Councilor Auchter moved, seconded by Councilor Price to authorize the Borough Manager to advertise Ordinance 1475 – Tax rate for Indebtedness for 2008. Motion approved. d. Advertise Ordinance 1476 – EIT rates for 2008 Councilor Urey moved, seconded by Councilor Henderson to authorize the Borough Manager to advertise Ordinance 1476 – EIT rates for 2008. Motion approved. e. Advertise for bids for a road salt/anti-skid storage unit. Councilor Henderson moved, seconded by Councilor Auchter to authorize the Borough Manager to advertise and seek bids for a pre-cast foundation and dome for road salt/anti- skid storage to be placed at the Ridge Avenue property behind the fire station.
