MINUTES OF A WORK SESSION MEETING
OF THE TOWN OF GREENVILLE COUNCIL
HELD IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS
WEDNESDAY, October 4, 2023, at 6:30 p.m.
1. Call to Order Paul Hamill, Mayor

Residents: Mr. Joel Rinella asked if minutes were being kept for this meeting; Mayor Hamill responded
“Yes”.

5. Public Comments (Related to agenda items – 5 minutes time limit)
Mr. Joel Rinella spoke regarding the thoroughness of the quarterly budget presentation. Mr. Joel
Rinella questioned the USDA cruiser loan.
Mrs. Michelle Mueller asked Councilor Hall to explain his comment made earlier regarding police coverage
in West Salem Township.
Mr. Gary Mueller asked for clarification on two items from the agenda, item A under Unfinished Business
and item B under New Business.
6. Council Comments
Councilor Hereford expressed his sympathy for the recent passing of Ms. Sherman, adding her contributions
toward Hempfield Township and the Hempfield Township Fire Department.
Councilor Carr provided details for the donor sign being installed at Central Park.
Councilor Hall provided a summary of the Meet Me on Main event and asked if there had been a date and
time set for the Exit Act 47 Ceremony.
Councilor Butcher thanked Mr. Breedlove for his work and said it has been very noticeable in town.
Councilor Butcher also provided details regarding the upcoming Thiel Homecoming and Library Fundraiser
events.
Councilor Beil thanked Mr. Urey for his quarterly presentation and provided a summary of the SpookT
event at the drive-in.

INFORMATIONAL:
A. Trick or Treat will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. The
Halloween Parade will start at 2:00 pm.
B. Fall leaf pick-up dates have been scheduled for October 27, 2023, and December 1, 2023. Leaves
must be placed in biodegradable bags.
C. The Heritage Days fundraiser “Heritage Hauntings” is scheduled for October 20 & 20, 2023 in
Riverside Park.
D. There will be a special session of council on October 23, 2023, to discuss the draft of the proposed
2023 budget beginning at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers.
E. Notice from Charter Communications of channel updates is on file in the Town Office.
F. Mercer County Regional Planning Commission 2021 and 2022 Audit Report is on file in the Town
Office.
