Clerks Report: N/A Lloyd moved to accept council minutes of the April 7th, 2020 meeting; T. Wilson seconded. Vote as followed: Hunter-Abstain, Lloyd-yes, T. Wilson-Yes, R. Fire Board 05/04/20 @ 7:00 PM Records Committee 05/05/20 @ 6:30 PM Ambulance Board 05/04/20 @ 5:00 PM Annexation Committee 06/02/20 @ 6:00 PM Administrators Report: Virgil Giles handed out a report asking about the park opening to the public. At this time the park and playground equipment will stay closed, answered Mayor and Council. Chief’s Report: N/A Zoning Inspector: N/A Solicitor’s Report: N/A Mayor’s Report: Mayor Sallee would like to take a moment to give a special thanks to the Police Department that are on the front lines, going into places not knowing if the virus is there/been there/not there. After a while it plays on your psyche. Also want to thank the rest of the team including the village workers, they work hard daily to keep the electric and water on for the citizens during outages or leaks. Also thanking the utility clerk and fiscal officer for keeping the daily activities going they work hard keeping the village going too! Just today the girls helped direct traffic when there was a possible structure fire they could have stood by and just watched but they took action to help because they were village employees. They supported the chief until the fire department was on scene and chief could take over. A big thank you to the fire department is needed, virus or no virus they go where they are needed, anytime and anywhere. I really hope that the citizens of Greenwich and the surrounding areas stop and think about what it would be like without all the supporting cast that has shown heroism not only during this pandemic, but every day of our lives. I see every day that the bigger towns and cities don’t have the kind of people we do in our community. It’s not that they don’t want to be but that it all comes down to budgets. We are working diligently on trying to do what we can to survive this pandemic. Only time is going to tell if we will need to furlough. Believe me that the last thing I want to do, he states.
