Greenwood Council Meeting
Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 6:00pm
Council Chambers
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Schecklman. Roll call- Hansen, Ashbeck, Jordan, Nelson, all
present. Also present, Clerk/ Treasurer Kayla Schar.
New Business:
1. Council discussed the water rate increase as presented by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Hansen motioned to approve the presented water rate increase. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes.
Motion carried.
2. PSC will increase the Public Fire Protection to $183,341 from the current $128,618. Due to this
increase, discussion was made regarding adding a percentage of the Fire Protection charge to the utility
bills. Ashbeck motioned to place 40% of the Public Fire Protection charge onto the Utility Bills with the
average residential home being $25.77 per quarter. Hansen seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion
carried.
3. Hansen motioned to approve the name change of the Greenwood Public Library to the Greenwood Area
Public Library. Jordan seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
4. Hansen motioned to adjourn. Ashbeck seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
