Greenwood Council Meeting
Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 6:00pm
201 S Main St- Council Chambers
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Hansen. Roll call- Nelson, Hinker, Bolf and Ashbeck all present. Also present
Clerk/ Treasurer Kayla Schar, Street Supervisor Dave Hinker, Police Chief Andrew Kohnert and Attorney Bonnie
Wachsmuth.
Public Hearing:
Mayor Hansen called the public hearing to order. The owners of parcel 231.0409.000 are asking for a variance
request to allow them to split the parcel into two sections. The Planning and Zoning commission is recommending
that the Council grant the variance as the parcels in that neighborhood are all similar to what they are requesting.
The owners are already treating the parcel as if it is split into two sections. With the lot already having two
established addresses and driveways. No citizens were present for comment. Ashbeck motioned to close the
public hearing. Nelson seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
New Business:
1. Ashbeck motioned to grant the variance request for parcel 231.0409.000 allowing it to be split into two sections.
Nelson seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
2. Ashbeck motioned to approve the Personnel Committee recommendations for the following handbook changes to
read as follows:
• Pg 8- Training- Section D update- Meal allowances up to $75.00 per day. Employee must present
receipts for reimbursement.
• Pg 13- On Call Coverage- Add section P- All Public Works and Utility employees shall be compensated
$50 per day for on call weekend duty and $100 per holiday on call.
• Pg 13- On Call Coverage- Add section Q- In the City’s discretion, an officer/ police chief may be
assigned to on-call status. Officers will be compensated one-third (1/3) of their current wage per hour for
on-call hours unless the officer is called out to work. An officer who is called out outside of his/ her
regular work shift shall be paid for a minimum of two (2) hours.
• Pg 30- Clothing Allowance- Employees- Section A update- The Public Works and Wastewater/Water
Employees shall be granted an annual uniform maintenance allowance of $500.00 per year.
• Pg 30- Clothing Allowance- Employees- Add section D- The Clerk and Deputy Clerk Employees shall be
granted an annual uniform allowance of $75 per year.
Hinker seconded the motion. All ayes. Motion carried.
3. Nelson motioned to approve the following Election Workers for the 2025 elections.

• Cathy Langreck
• Paula Williams
• David Andrewski
• Patricia Klinke
• Deb Mayenschein
Bolf seconded the motion, Ashbeck abstained. Motion carried.
4. Hinker motioned to approve a two-year contract with HydroCorp. Bolf seconded the motion. All ayes, motion
carried.
5. Nelson motioned to approve the bills and vouchers as presented. Bolf seconded the motion. Roll call vote, all ayes
motion carried.
6. Ashbeck motioned to approve the minutes as written. Hinker seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.
7. Bolf motioned to adjourn. Nelson seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried.
