MINUTES OF THE RESCHEDULED CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF GROSSE POINTE
WOODS HELD ON MONDAY, MARCH 2, 2026, IN THE COUNCIL-COURTROOM OF THE ROBERT
E. NOVITKE MUNICIPAL CENTER, 20025 MACK PLAZA DR., GROSSE POINTE WOODS,
MICHIGAN.
The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by Mayor Bryant.

Motion by Motschall, seconded by McConaghy, that Councilmember Gafa be excused from tonight’s
meeting.
Motion carried by the following vote:

No: None
Absent: Gafa

A presentation from the Third Circuit Court was provided by Judge Nicole Castka.
Mayor Bryant asked Director of Public Safety Kowalski to announce the promotions in the Public Safety
Department. Deputy Clerk Miotto administered the promotional Oaths of Office to Lieutenant Brian
Christopher Urban and Sergeant Dennis Scott Walker.
Under New Business, the following individual was heard:
Mayor Bryant brought attention to the new banner on the front of the Municipal Building that
celebrates Grosse Pointe Woods’ Zach Werenski and Team USA for their Olympic Gold Medal
in men’s ice hockey.
Under Public Comment, no one wished to be heard.
Motion by Motschall, seconded by Koester, to adjourn tonight’s meeting at 7:43 p.m. PASSED
UNANIMOUSLY.
