Call to Order Mayor Lance Westcamp called the City Council meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Staff Present: Kevin Shannon - Law Director, Jason Carr - Director of Finance, Casey Adams - Chief of Police, Michael Poirier - Chief Building Official, Steve Farst - City Engineer, Michael Loges - Development Director, Mindy Kay - Clerk of Council Guests Present: The Guest Book is on file with the Clerk of Council. Reports A. Mayor - Lance Westcamp Mayor Westcamp spoke about the Memorial Day event and commended the Community Affairs and Parks departments on a job well done. He thanked the Robert Dutro Post 486 of the American Legion, the Groveport Madison band, the Groveport Police Department, and Warren Motts for their attendance and participation in the ceremony. He then reminded Council about the Valedictorian Breakfast tomorrow morning. B. Administrator - BJ King C. Chief of Police - Casey Adams Chief Adams congratulated Sgt. Josh Gilbert for graduating from the first of many administrative schools he will be attending. He said Sgt. Gilbert is delving into collective bargaining, grievances, budgetary issues, and other things that come with being an administrator within the department. D. Director of Finance - Jason Carr E. Director of Law - Kevin Shannon Law Director Shannon expressed his sincerest gratitude for the display of his father’s military banner on Memorial Day. He spoke of his father’s military career and how proud he and his family were to see him included in the celebration. F. Development Director - Michael Loges Development Director Loges gave Council a quick reminder about the upcoming Groveport Pub and Grub tour. G. Council Members - Jean Ann Hilbert, Ed Dildine, Shawn Cleary, Becky Hutson, Scott Lockett and Jack Rupp Mr. Rupp gave kudos on the staff reports Mr. Farst, Mr. Loges, and Mr. Poirier submitted for the public hearing. Mr. Cleary expressed how he thinks it would be a fun idea to showcase our new snow equipment in the Fourth of July parade. He then gave a reminder to department heads on preparedness and response to severe weather, as the storms this season have been increasingly severe.
