Ryan Municipal Building PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION Meeting Notice/Agenda February 20, 2025 (Thursday) – 6:00 p.m. Hales Corners Village Hall (5635 S. New Berlin Road) Notice is hereby given that the Public Works Commission will meet at the above date, time, and place. Notice is given that a majority of the Village Board may attend this meeting to gather information about an agenda item over which they have decision-making responsibility. This would constitute a meeting of the Board per State ex rel. Badke v. Greendale Village Board even though the Board will not take formal action at this meeting. Houte, DPW Project Manager Public:  None in attendance 2.0 GENERAL BUSINESS o Approval of Minutes – January 16, 2025  Motion to approve the 01-16-25 meeting minutes by Fritz and seconded by Postotnik. Vote approved unanimously. o Public Comment -  None 3.0 ADMINISTRATION REPORT o DPW Task Updates  Houte provided an update on Village Staff tasks. o DPW Manager Updates  Whitnall Way L.S.  Issue with Pump 1 Continuous alarms. • Pump 1 impeller was impacted with “rags” found that the impellers are worn and unable to “chop/tear” up “rags” to pass through pump. o Replacement Impeller Kits for both Pumps $5,400.00  Submitted Annual Tier II Emergency & Hazardous Chemical Inv.  Annual report for materials stored at DPW • Calcium Chloride • Sodium Chloride • Gravel  Provided We-Energies Road Weight Restrictions  2025 Annual Request  Village Hall Tree Removals  Three Maple Trees  Wisconsin Garden Club Federation  Earth Day April 22nd Tree Planting Ceremony  DPW Annual Salt Shed Inspection on 02-04-25  Sanitary Sewer Main (Dennis Ct)  Equipment Purchases  Smooth Drum Roller Compactor  AC Diagnostic Machine  Equipment Trailer  Skid Steer Attachment – Grappler  Village Hall Fire Protection System  Tested all detection equipment with no issues (2-12-25).  Contacted USA Fire Protection to diagnose air loss issue. • Found a leak and fixed it.  Village Hall – Admin Office space renovation  Village Hall – Generator  Minor discussion on items. Houte answered questions, elaborated and provide additional information for clarification. 4.0 PROJECTS: 4.1 2024 Road Program – Update  Completed Project Final Quantities  Change Order to Reconcile Quantities o Adjust Contract Amount o Adjust Pavement Warranty to 3 years  Holding Retainage until acceptance of the project.  Liquidated Damages – Combined Total = $112,000.00  Additional Eng. Fee’s - $7,366.50  Minor discussion on items. Houte answered questions, elaborated and provide additional information for clarification. 4.2 Village Library Project - Update 4.3 Village Fire Station Parking Lot Project - Update 4.4 MMSD Private Property Infiltration & Inflow Project – Update  Minor discussion on items. Houte answered questions, elaborated and provide additional information for clarification. 4.5 Hales Happiness Water Main – Update  Minor discussion on items. Houte answered questions, elaborated and provide additional information for clarification. 5.0 NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING – March 20, 2025 @ 6:00pm 6.0 ADJOURNMENT  Motion to adjourn by Postotnik and seconded by Merkel.
