Monroe Community Center 100 Stillwell Road HCCC Hampton Waterways Restoration Project 07142022  Hampton Waterways Restoration Project July 14 Meeting Agenda Call to Order & Welcome Roll Call Approval of May Minutes New Business  Review new cleanup dates and find a spot for October.  Discuss the date change of our meetings from 2nd Thursday to a majority interest date.  Vote for approval for funds to be spent on the educational stewardship equipment such as tablets, QR codes, time lapse, deck of cards printed with educational material (school pride).  Discuss Virginia Tech Virginia seafood agricultural research and extension (AREC) as a possible field trip.  New cleanups/activities  July 16 BBGF 10 to noon waterway cleanup boats, August 11, HWRP activity 6:30, Grandview 2 nature preserve, September? Date?  Buckroe Beach Arts in the Park. Old Business  A schedule of cleanups was reviewed from May to October 22. We will consider changing the date of our meetings from Thursdays to another day.  Pass cleanups: May 21, Pembroke spit river street park, June 4 clean the bay, Dandy Haven Marina, June 9 ,Buckroe beach HWRP clean up, June 18 HWRP farmers market 9 to 3, June 18 757maker space open house.  757 Makerspace Open House : Beau Turner, CEO, will gladly assist with our trash bash project.  Betsy McAllister gave an update on the oyster project at the HCCC meeting on June 14.  Also the Peninsula Master Naturalist held their meeting at BBGF on that date and had an educational tour of the farm.  A shoreline assessment with Karen Duhring, Adam Newland and Linda Boone was conducted on June 28 which included the oyster reef and azalea trail.  Educational stewardship equipment was discussed as possible plans for using some of the remaining HWRP funds.
