Hampton Electoral Board Meeting October 9-10, 2024 10:00 a.m., Registrar’s Office Present: Rebecca, Tom, Tara, Matt Meeting called to order 10:17 a.m. Meeting opened, then was Closed to discuss procedural matters Re-opened the Meeting at 10:47 a.m. Motion was made and seconded to certify that the closed portion of the meeting was to address procedural matters. Motion passed. Recognition of Officers of Election: A voter called to recognize OE Frank Fegan for making his curbside voting experience (in casting an early vote) excellent. Frank was able to come into the meeting and be recognized. Status of the HU parade: We are hearing nothing regarding any effort to notify the citizens who will attempt to vote on 10/26 – the day of both early voting and the HU Homecoming parade – about the route to get to the Registrar’s office. They will be detoured around the parade that morning. By law there must be early voting that day, and there must be access to the voting area. We will start our canvass on Election Day (11/5) at 7:00 p.m. again this election. Our next meeting, after that, will be Wednesday, 11/6 at 1:00 p.m. The Risk Limiting Audit will commence on 11/19. The audit must be completed by 12/2. Pre-processing (early mailed-in ballots) will begin 10/14 at 10:00 a.m. It will continue on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9:00 a.m. until Election Day (more days will be added if necessary). October 9-10, 2024 Electoral Board Meeting, page 2 Closed session was entered at 11:30 a.m. to discuss personnel and security matters. Returned to Open Session at 12:15 p.m. Motion was made to certify that only personnel and security matters were discussed in closed session. Seconded and passed. Meeting was held at ease until 10/10 at 6:00 p.m. Meeting was reconvened at 6:39 p.m. on 10/10. Meeting was in Closed session to discuss personnel. Meeting was brought into Open session at 7:06 p.m. It was certified that we dealt only with personnel issues.
