Hampton Election Canvass and Provisional Meeting November 5-15, 2024 8:00 p.m., Registrar’s Office Present: Rebecca, Tom, Tara, Matt Meeting called to order 8:00 p.m. Meeting began with board examining election documents being brought back by precinct chiefs and assistants. Documents were examined for signatures and completeness. Meeting was at-ease at 11:50 p.m. when all precincts were returned. Meeting re-convened at 1:23 p.m. on 11/6/24 Two voters came in to discuss their provisional ballots. Mr. Thomas O’Donnell, and Ms. Fleming – both ballots were accepted as valid. Candidate Richelle Wallace asked about the release of election results late on election day. She was told about the process, and shown that the late release of this information was not unusual. Democratic Chairman Ghana asked about the selection process for Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs. The DS-200 print-outs were examined and compared with the information put into the computer. A few changes needed to be made – human error. About half of the precincts were examined. Meeting at ease 5:24 p.m. Meeting reconvened at 12:13 on 11/7/24 The remainder of the precinct DS200 print-outs were addressed. Greg Kidd, father of candidate Natalie Kidd was a guest today as he was interested in this process. It was discovered that, in one precinct, there was an error that gave Natalie an additional 601 votes (without taking votes from another candidate). It was human error.  EB Provisional Meeting 11/7/24, Page 2 The next phase – addressing the provisional ballots – had to wait until after noon on Tuesday, when information would be released by the Department of Elections. Meeting was at ease 5:45 p.m. Meeting was re-convened 11:05 a.m. 11/12/24 Most of the EOs from Burbank Precinct were with us. There were questions about the differences between the Poll Books and the Ballot counts in the DS200. Apparently there were voters who signed various forms (Affirmation of Eligibility, etc.) who were not checked into the poll book. The Provisional Ballot portion of the meeting commenced at about 1:00 p.m. Meeting at ease 7:15 p.m. 11/13/24 – Meeting called to order 11:25 a.m. Continued addressing Provisional Ballots by precinct Meeting at ease 7:18 p.m. Meeting called to order 8:53 a.m. 11/14/24 Continued addressing Provisional Ballots Meeting at ease 11:00 a.m. Meeting reconvened 1:45 p.m. Meeting held at ease 7:50 p.m. Meeting called to order 8:45 a.m. 11/15/24  EB Provisional Meeting 11/15/24, Page 3 Provisional ballots and Hand Counted ballots, along with other tasks associated with end of election completed at 1:00 p.m. Total Provisional Ballots addressed: 2895 (2622 accepted, 273 rejected). 47 of the accepted ballots were hand counted as the DS200 could not read the markings made by voters.
