Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting – November 27, 2018 Attending: (A) = absent Bob Boester ( ) Willie Brown (A) Lynne Hutton ( ) Asa Jenrette ( ) Andrew Wilson ( ) Ryan Lowrie ( ) Woody Newman (A) Donte Perry (A) Samantha Snead ( ) Terri Vander Vennet ( ) William Moore ( ) Call to Order/Reading and Approval of Minutes: At 12:13p.m., Chair Boester called the meeting to order. Motion made by Ms. Hutton to approve the minutes of the October 23, 2018 meeting. Ms. Snead seconded. The motion passed. Chair Report/Announcement: Chair Boester reviewed upcoming member terms ending. Chair Boester and Mr. Brown are eligible for reappointment to a second term, while Ms. Hutton is not eligible for reappointment. Chair Boester thanked Ms. Hutton for her 21 years of serving on the Advisory Committee. Ms. Hutton has served 7 terms, beginning in 1992. Four appointments will be made by Council at the December 12th Council Meeting. Director’s Report: Ms. Vander Vennet reviewed event statistics for the months of October and November and committee discussed revenues generated by the Phish concerts. William Moore was introduced as the recently assigned, primary legal counsel for the committee. Ms. Vander Vennet distributed 2018 customer event surveys for the committee to review. Comments will be addressed at the next meeting of the committee. Ms. Vander Vennet reminded the committee there would not be a December meeting and reminded everyone they were invited to attend the Coliseum’s Annual Holiday Party, December 13th at 5:30pm. Other Business: Chair Boester led a discussion of the Coliseum’s upcoming 50th anniversary, recommending the Daily Press be contacted for archived write-ups and photos of the Coliseum. Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 1:07 p.m. Next Meeting: Next Meeting is currently scheduled for Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 12 noon at the Embassy Suites.
