Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes – June 25, 2019 Attending: (A) = absent Bob Boester ( ) Willie Brown ( ) Asa Jenrette (A) Matt Joyner ( ) Ryan Lowrie ( ) Woody Newman ( ) Anne Rutherford (A) Samantha Snead ( ) Andrew Wilson ( ) Terri Vander Vennet ( ) William Moore ( ) Christopher Hennessy-attorney intern ( ) Call to Order/Reading and Approval of Minutes: At 12:14p.m., Chair Boester called the meeting to order. Motion was made by Mr. Brown to approve the Minutes from the May 28, 2019 meeting. Mr. Newman seconded and the motion passed. Chair Report/Announcement: Chair Boester gave a brief review of the June 20, 2019 Coliseum 50th Anniversary activity committee recommendations and reiterated that members are not required, but are welcome to participate in the planning and implementation of the 2020 anniversary activities. Chair Boester reminded members that meetings will not be held in July or August. Director’s Report: Ms. Vander Vennet presented event statistics for May and June, reviewed upcoming events and future event holds and gave an update on the replacement of the four original chillers scheduled for this winter. Ms. Vander Vennet requested that members respond to email RSVP requests for meeting attendance to assist in planning. Other Business: Members discussed the 50th Anniversary celebration activities recommended on June 20, 2019. Ms. Vander Vennet highlighted each committee’s main recommendations. Coliseum’s executive management, Chair Boester, and department attorney Moore, will review recommendations for feasibility and budget before presenting a final plan to the planning committee members for review. Upon finalization, participants will have an opportunity to join specific activity teams for implementation. New Business: No new business discussed. Adjournment: Meeting adjourned at 12:51pm.
