Hampton Coliseum Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes February 27, 2024 12:00 PM Attending: Linda Curtis Lynne Hutton Matt Joyner Woody Newman Samantha Snead, Vice Chair Bob Boester, Emeritus Terri Vander Vennet Charlie Gardner Absent: Visitors: Ryan Lowrie, Chair, Joyce Melvin-Jones Andrew Wilson, Ben Naidorf, Legal Call to Order and Approval of Minutes: The meeting was called to order at 12:06 PM by Vice-Chair Snead. A motion was made by Ms. Hutton to approve the January 23, 2024 meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by Ms. Curtis and passed unanimously. Chair Report: Chair Snead expressed her enjoyment of being able to serve 2 terms on the committee and her desire to have the opportunity again in the future. Director Report: Ms. Vander Vennet reviewed past and upcoming events. The committee discussed the rare sellout during pre-sale of the May 31-June 1 Pretty Lights EDM show. Ms. Vander Vennet provided an update on the ramp waterproofing project and next steps. Other Business: Ms. Vander Vennet provided an update on the product branding project. The template in with City Council for comment and once received, Ms. Vander Vennet and Mr. Gardner would be meeting with vendor. New Business: Ms. Vander Vennet provided an update on the newly hired Artistic Director, Jody Madaras, who will start March 11, 2024. Mr. Boester shared his experience of the candidate interviews and touted Mr. Madaras’ experience and accomplishments. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 12:50 PM.
