I. Opening
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 5:01pm.

A. Roll Call and Verification of Quorum
Quorum verified.
B. Pledge of Allegiance
C. Approval of Minutes of the September 9, 2013 Neighborhood Commission
Meeting
The Chair asked for consideration of the minutes for the September 9, 2013
Neighborhood Commission meeting. Kathy Johnson made a motion to approve
the minutes. Karen Duncan seconded the motion. The Chair called for a vote.
Chair voiced, “All in favor please say aye.” Response, “aye.”
Chair voiced, “Opposed?” Response – none.
Minutes approved.
D. Chair Announcements
• The Chair Elect, Kathy Johnson announced she was stepping down as chair and
Angelique Shenk would preside over the meeting duration of the vote for Chair
elections.
E. Recognitions
• Burbank PTA was recognized as newly Registered Neighborhood Organization.
Kathy Johnson accepted the certificate on behalf of the Burbank PTA.
I. Action Items
A. Consideration of the Chair of the Neighborhood Commission
• Angelique Shenk, Acting Chair, reported on behalf of the Nominating Committee. The
Committee would like to recommend Kathy Johnson as Chair of the Neighborhood
Commission. There were no nominations from the floor.
The Executive Director called for a vote.

B. Consideration of Chair-Elect of the Neighborhood Commission
• The Nominating Committee would like to recommend Steven Edwards as Chair Elect. There
were no additional nominations from the floor.
The Chair called for a vote.

C. Consideration of Appointments to the Executive Committee
• The Nominating Committee would like to recommend the following appointments to the
Executive Committee.

D. Consideration of the Nominating Process for District Commissioners
• The Nominating Committee would like to recommend two candidates to City Council for
appointment; Chris Henderson (District 3) and John Lowe (District 7). Both were selected
based on their interview and qualifications.
The committee asked for consideration of the nominating process for Districts 3 and 7. The
Chair called for a vote.

Angelique Shenk Protocol for Public Input at Neighborhood Commission Meetings:
Hampton Neighborhood Commission meetings are open to the public. The public is invited to attend meetings
and to observe the work and deliberations of the Neighborhood Commission. The public may also address the
Neighborhood Commission during the agenda item “Items to be Presented by the Public” by signing up to speak.
The sign-up sheet will be available to the public until the agenda item “Items to be Presented by the Public” is
reached in the course of the meeting. Speakers will be recognized in the order in which they sign up and are
asked to limit their comments to 5 minutes.
