Civic Communications Committee Meeting Results May 11, 2016 – Canty Conference Room- 5:00 PM Present: Barbara Franklin Chair - At-Large Commissioner, Sandra Medina - District 4 Neighborhood Commissioner, Shanel Lewis - Neighborhood Development Associate, Alice Callahan – District 6 Neighborhood Commission, Stephanie Afonja – Nonprofit Representative, William A. Shackleford, Jr. – Community Outreach Coordinator Chesapeake, Harry – Northhampton Civic League Representative Absent: Chekesha White - District 10 Neighborhood Commissioner The regular meeting of the Civic Communications Committee of Hampton Neighborhood Commission was called to order at 5:00 PM on May 11, 2016 at Canty Conference Room by Barbara Franklin. I. Approval of Agenda The agenda was distributed and unanimously approved. II. Review of Previous Minutes Did not have quorum last meeting so no minutes to review III. Consideration of Open Issues 1. Chair Remarks – Barbara Franklin  Continue outreach and collaboration with neighborhood serving organizations 2. Meet and Greet Debrief -  have large district maps and district contact information available for attendees to be easily  slideshow of Registered Neighborhood-Serving Organizations displayed on a promethean board, must be completed by Civic Committee member not staff  continue to acknowledge RNSO’s with more background 3. Identify Priority Projects – summer project to review Hampton.gov Neighborhood Commission pages, to create slideshows, topic ideas, that would assist organizations, submit input 4. Hampton Registered Neighborhood-Serving Organization - Review  N2U2 Fashion – seeking additional information  Young Men Corporation – requesting information concerning any past, current events or partnerships that are specific to Hampton – Pending  Prevent Youth Outreach Program – requesting information concerning any past, current events or partnerships that are specific to Hampton – Pending  Historic Little England Community – Approved  IT Professionals Association – Approved Page 1 of 2  William A. Shackleford, Jr – offered speaking to public for community outreach initiatives and supporting our efforts IV. Agenda and Time of Next Meeting The next meeting will be held at 5:00 PM on June 8, 2016 at: Canty Conference Room 22 Lincoln St. Hampton, Virginia 23669 The meeting was adjourned at 6PM by Barbara Franklin.
