CAPI Committee Meeting Results May 18, 2016 – Community Development Conference Room- 5:00 PM Present: Steve Edwards Chair – Faith Based Commissioner David Duxbury - District 1 Neighborhood Commissioner Peggy Todd – At-Large Realtor Commissioner Stephanie Afonja – At-Large Non-Profit Commissioner Boris Peyton - Volunteer Marcie Spragan - Neighborhood Development Associate Jasmine Bryson - Neighborhood Development Associate Shellae Blackwell - Neighborhood Development Associate Absent: Henry Mills – At-Large Business Commissioner Pat Parker - District 5 Neighborhood Commissioner “Chuck” McEachin – District 2 Neighborhood Commissioner Lynn Allsbrook – Public Works Department  Grant Reviews/Approvals  Approved S.E.E.D.S. Back to School Kick-Off Grant request for $8,725.00  S.E.E.D.S. represented  Increased the number of events/locations  $2000.00 per 4 locations  $725.00 per 1 location  Increased partnerships  Increased participation from Type-1 Hampton schools to all Hampton schools  Consensus vote was taken (all in favor except 1)  Approved Do Gooders Shell Road Pride Day & Superfest Grant request for $1,100.00  Do Gooders not represented physically, but via phone conversation pre-meeting  First time grant request  Building community  Consensus vote was taken – Unanimous  Approved FOOT Family Fun Day Grant request for $2000.00  FOOT represented  First time grant request  To be held at Gosnold’s Hope Park  Focus on healthy bodies  Final Review of the Neighborhood Development Fund General Grant Policy  Minor changes provided to staff The meeting was adjourned at 5:56 PM The next meeting will be held at 5:00 PM on June 15, 2016 in the CDD Conference Room Minutes by: Steve Edwards
