The public is invited to attend meetings and to observe the work and deliberations of the Neighborhood Commission. The public may also address the Neighborhood Commission during the agenda item “Items to be Presented by the Public” by signing up to speak. The sign-up sheet will be available to the public until the agenda item “Items to be Presented by the Public” is reached in the course of the meeting. Roll Call II. 2022 Briefings a. Police – September b. RNOs – November Lt. Harrison has the information and guidance he needs to begin compiling the data for the Police Briefing. City Staff, Cashayla Rodgers joined the D&T Committee to receive guidance on what information to brief to the Neighborhood Commission in November. D&T made the following recommendations: - Highlight the changes made to the RNO Policy (if complete), - Layman’s definition of an RNO, - Include information on how RNSOs can/should work with RNOs, and - Provide the Commission with the current list of RNOs. III. Ongoing Training a. Operation Manual Moment i. Aug – 6 Guiding Principles – Gabriella Hayes ii. Sep – Roles & Responsibilities – Leslie Boswick Q3 presenters determined for OMM. Harrison has gathered input from Commissioners regarding desired data points to be presented during a Hampton Police Department (HPD) Briefing. Based on this feedback, Lt. Harrison’s presentation will touch on a variety of topics, to include, - HPD response to neighborhood-related calls, - the neighborhood’s “role” in neighborhood safety, - HPD’s “role” in neighborhood safety, - Neighborhood-related crime trends, - public access to data, and - how to use the public database. Stolen guns are the most likely to be used in crimes. • Do not leave your cars running, unless you are actually in the car. • Lighting is one of the best deterrents to criminal activity. • Home camera systems have become invaluable in solving crimes. • Make sure that you know the serial numbers of high value items and have photos of you jewelry. HAMPTON POLICE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT UNIT QUESTIONS?
