Hampton Senior Citizen Advisory Committee December 4, 2017 Hampton Senior Center Members Present: Martha Clark, Sarah Drew, Christine Evans, Delores Farmer, Yvonne Gaynor, George Gwynn, Jr., Martha Johnson, Ingrid Kirschmann, Agency Representatives: Mayor Donnie Tuck, Jimmy Gray, Will Moffett, City Council, Wanda Rogers, Barbara Stewart, Linda Burke, Hampton Dept. of Social Services, Gina Lewis, Foster Grandparent Program, Kay. Trotter, Susan Elswick, Gloria Jones Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services, Laura Fitzgerald, Brian DeProfio City Manager’s Office, Vivian Clayton, Peninsula Agency on Aging, Linda Scott-Stone, Hampton Health Dept. There was no official meeting of the Committee. The 2nd annual Senior Citizenship Awards were presented in lieu of the monthly meeting. S. Drew opened the event and Mayor Donnie Tuck welcomed participants. Jason Samuels, Manager of the Healthy Families’ Before and After school program provided remarks to the gathering. His talk focused on “Service and the Power of Purpose”. S. Drew introduced the eight (8) senior citizens nominated for the Senior Citizenship award. Nominees were Jean Alberts, Leroy Barnes, Betty Burton, Albernia Clark, Lillian Epps Johnson, Rebecca Leggett, Georgia Scott and Audrey Perry Williams. Mr. Leroy Barnes was named the winner for the 70’s age bracket and Ms. Lillian Epps Johnson was named the winner for the 80’s age group.
