Sallie gave the Treasurer's report. We received our annual allocation from the City. We are waiting for
the insurance checks and the bills for the bathroom and left field work. We have $114, 987.79.
The left field project is complete. There is more work to be done on the bathrooms.
Henry has a contractor looking at the batter's eye. Frank has someone who is willing to do drawings.
Tommy Garner will start working in the third base restroom this week. He will give half of the air
conditioning, and we will pay half plus labor. Our paper supply person has made contributions to
restroom fixtures.
The City is involved in two projects-the new building and site design. Q Design is working on
everything related to the site plan. They need to have the AECOM information. The site plan is our first
priority so that we can prioritize our plans. Then we can talk with the City about how our capital
improvement money will continue. Capital improvement money will be kept and paid by the City. On
July 1st, we will receive $99,000 for our 2018 budget. By Wednesday, Jeffrey hopes to have a sign
showing the new building with credit given to the City and Q Design.
The Pilots are expecting seven players who are still in college tournaments.
Jim met with the police department. We will pay for police protection for about ten games. A crossover
has been requested. Public Works will give us traffic cones to put on parallel lines. Jeffrey said that
they will set up the cones. Jim met with Public Works. They have started to clean the ditch. More clean-
up is needed around center field. The site plan group, AECOM, need to keep us and the Pilots abreast
of needs for restrooms, drainage, etc. so that we can make plans together.
The Apprentice School will begin with a capital improvement contribution in 2018.
Money that was used for the scoreboard can be used-$15,000 annually. They pay utilities when they are
here and up to $12,000 for maintenance. Their contract ends this year.
Henry says they will make a batting cage plan while the new building is being built. The scoreboard is
being worked on.
Steve Todd resigned from the Authority because he is now living in Newport News. He was thanked
for his service.
Frank has someone coming to look at the parking lots.
We will meet again on Monday, August 7, 2017.
