PENINSULA STADIUM AUTHORITY Minutes from August 7, 2017 The meeting was called to order by Jim Wilson, Chair. Others in attendance included Everett Bensten, Frank Feagan, Sallie Marchello, Kevin Myers, Ruth Simmons, Tim Smith, Brenda Stokes, Pat Uribes, and AG Womble from the board as well as Randy Price who will join the board next month, Henry Morgan and Jeffrey Scott from Community Baseball, and Carrie and Ron Quinn from Q Design. The minutes from the June 5, 2017 meeting were approved. Sallie gave the Treasurer's report. An erroneous $50 deposit was made. We have $83,909.44. The insurance bill has been received and paid. One more bill is due on the restroom work. Jim will request this year's money, and we should receive it in September. Everyone is working toward a spring 2018 deadline for the new building. Henry said last Saturday's game was our best ever-2 hours and 20 minutes, homeruns, large crowd. Ron Quinn gave a presentation with thirty eight pages of drawings, beginning with civil engineering being done by AECOM. Work is being done on drainage. AECOM's goal is to submit a site plan for the City's review next week. The City has been very supportive. We will have Big Ass fan's upstairs in the new building. Next month, we will revisit the batter's eye and right field. Frank knows an engineer who will volunteer his services as a structural engineer for the right field wall. The foundation requirements will be determined as well as material to be used. Frank got a proposal for $250,000 for paving our parking area. Pat said that maybe we should consider naming the new building. City Council would have to approve it. If we find a sponsor, that money could be used for another project. Henry asked that we think about off season uses for the stadium. Our next meeting will be on Monday, September 11, 2017.
