HAYES TOWNSHIP February 13, 2024 UNAPPROVED MINUTES Supervisor Jones called the General Meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. at the Hayes Township Hall, 2055 E. Townline Lake Road. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Members present – Supervisor Jones, Trustee Buckley, Trustee Teall, Treasurer Rood, and Clerk Hoyt Members absent - None Motion Rood/Buckley to approve agenda with the addition of road discussion. All Ayes, motion carried. Public Comment on agenda (The Hayes Township Board allows 3 minutes per person for public comment) Community Reports • County Commissioner • Lake Boards Motion Teall/Rood to approve the January 23, 2024, general meeting minutes with corrections. All Ayes, motion carried. Motion Teall/Rood approve bills to be paid. All Ayes, motion carried. Department Reports • Supervisor • Treasurer • Clerk • Trustee New Business Motion Jones/Rood to accept Assessor Annual Report to the board. All ayes, motion carried. Motion Rood/Hoyt to approve ordinance Enforcement agency designated office clerk to move forward with contempt of court orders as provided by the township attorney. All ayes, motion carried. Motion Jones/Rood to appoint Pat Adams to Planning Commission to fill the unexpired term ending 12/20/24. Discussion held regarding this position. Revised motion Jones/Rood to appoint Pat Adams to Planning Commission to fill the unexpired term ending 12/20/24 and accept resignation of Pat Adams from the Zoning Board of Appeals effective 2/13/24. Roll call vote: Jones – aye, Buckley – nay, Teall – nay, Rood – aye, Hoyt – nay. Motion failed. Motion Hoyt/Rood to approve change in clerk office assistant position – Christie Balog to Office Assistant and Pam Voelker to Election Coordinator. All ayes, motion carried. Motion Teall/Rood to approve change of February 27 board meeting to February 29 due to elections being held on February 27. All ayes, motion carried.
