HAYES TOWNSHIP February 25, 2025 UNAPPROVED MINUTES Supervisor Powell called the General Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Hayes Township Hall, 2055 E. Townline Lake Road. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Members present – Supervisor Powell, Trustee Buckley, Trustee McKay, Treasurer Cavanaugh, and Clerk Hoyt Members absent. - None Motion Buckley/McKay to approve the agenda as presented to the board. All Ayes, motion carried. Public Comment on agenda (The Hayes Township Board allows 3 minutes per person for public comment) Community Reports • County Commissioner • Clare County Road Commission • Planning Commission Motion Cavanaugh/McKay to approve February 11, 2025, General Board minutes. All Ayes, motion carried. Motion Cavanaugh/Buckley to approve the Consent Agenda • Bills to Be Paid • Bills Paid Prior • Treasurers Report All Ayes, motion carried. Department Reports • Supervisor • Treasurer • Clerk • Trustees • Building Committee • Zoning • Digital Communications New Business Motion Hoyt/Powell to adopt Resolution 24-15 Hayes Township 2nd Qtr budget amendment Roll Call vote: Powell – aye, Buckley – aye, Cavanaugh – aye, McKay – aye, Hoyt – aye. Resolution 24-15 is adopted. Motion Cavanaugh/Hoyt to approve an update to Chapter 4 Financial Administration Policy section 4.27 Cash Handling and Receipting revision. Roll Call vote: Powell – aye, Buckley – aye, Cavanaugh – aye, McKay – aye, Hoyt – aye. Motion carried. Motion Hoyt/Powell to approve Treasurer Cavanaugh to attend Michigan Certified Assessing Technician (MCAT) training in Gaylord – registration $150. All ayes, motion carried. Motion McKay/Powell to accept the quote the gym flooring quote from Floor Care Concepts, as discussed at previous board meeting, contingent upon receipt of W9 form and proof of insurance. All ayes, motion carried. Motion Hoyt/McKay to authorize Treasurer Cavanaugh to prepare a cancellation letter to TextMyGov as the service is not being used. All ayes, motion carried. Motion McKay/Cavanaugh to purchase gym activity supplies in an effort to increase participation of the use of the gym in the amount of $1,600 plus shipping. All ayes, motion carried.
