HAYES TOWNSHIP June 24, 2025 UNAPPROVED MINUTES Supervisor Powell called the General Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Hayes Township Hall, 2055 E. Townline Lake Road. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Members present – Supervisor Powell, Trustee Buckley, Trustee McKay, Treasurer Cavanaugh, and Clerk Hoyt Members absent. - None Motion Buckley/Cavanaugh to approve the agenda as presented to the board. Clerk Assistant - $19.51/hr. 2. Assessor - $18.97/hr. 3. Cemetery Manager - $18.97/hr. 4. Cemetery Sexton - $19.99/hr. 5. Deputy Clerk - $19.51/hr. 6. Deputy Treasurer - $16.40/hr. 7. Maintenance - $19.99/hr. Roll Call vote: Powell – aye, Buckley – aye, Cavanaugh – aye, McKay – aye, Hoyt – aye. Motion carried. Motion Powell/Cavanaugh to approve request to allow Hayes Township personnel to enter property located at 3821 N. Grant Ave., Harrison to remove fence that is being donated to Hayes Township. All ayes, motion carried. Motion Hoyt/Cavanaugh to open sealed bids for black dirt at cemetery and demolition of tennis courts. 4 ayes, 1 abstain. Motion carried. Trustee McKay abstained and left the meeting room due to a conflict of interest. The bids are as follows: • Black dirt bids o Henry Excavating LLC $350.00 o Rob McKay Trucking Services LLC $400.00 • Demolition of Tennis Court o Erskine Enterprises LLC $10,650.00 o Henry Excavating LLC $30,000.00 o Rob McKay Trucking Services LLC $6,150.00 Motion Hoyt/Cavanaugh to accept Henry Excavating $350.00 bid for black dirt at cemetery. Motion Cavanaugh/Hoyt to accept McKay Trucking’s bid for $6,150.00 for demolition of the tennis courts, contingent upon receiving information regarding independent contractor workers compensation confirmation. Roll Coll: Powell – aye, Buckley – aye, Cavanaugh – aye, Hoyt – aye. Motion carried. At this time Trustee McKay returned to the meeting room. Motion Cavanaugh/Hoyt to approve attendance of Deputy Treasurer Cottrell to attend MTA Making Meetings More Effective – registration $100.00, milage $119.70. All ayes, motion carried. Motion Hoyt/Powell to approve Marlo Irrigation Proposal for replacement of Sprinkler Heads – approximately $750-$850. All ayes, motion carried. Motion Cavanaugh/Hoyt to approve payment to Black Rock Technologies for the full contract payment of $35,640 (10% discount – each year $11,880).
