HAYES TOWNSHIP June 13, 2025 UNAPPROVED MINUTES Supervisor Powell called the Special Meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. at the Hayes Township Hall, 2055 E. Townline Lake Road. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Members present – Supervisor Powell, Treasurer Cavanaugh, Trustee Buckley, Trustee McKay, Clerk Hoyt Members absent - None Motion Cavanaugh /McKay to approve the agenda. All Ayes, motion carried. Public Comment on agenda (The Hayes Township Board allows 3 minutes per person for public comment) New Business Motion Cavanaugh/McKay to accept resignation of current zoning administrator. Roll Call vote: Powell – aye, Buckley – aye, Cavanaugh – aye, McKay – aye, Hoyt – aye. Motion carried. Motion Buckley to appoint Pat Adams as interim Zoning Administrator. No second, Motion failed. Motion Cavanaugh/McKay to appoint Brendan Powell as interim zoning administrator, with no pay and to appoint Rob McKay as Zoning Administrator Assistant, as needed with pay at current zoning administrator rate pf pay. Roll Call vote: Powell – aye, Buckley – aye, Cavanaugh – aye, McKay – aye, Hoyt – aye. Motion carried. Motion McKay/Hoyt to approve the Zoning Code Enforcement job posting. All ayes, motion carried. Hoyt to post job posting with Michigan Works, newspaper, and MTA. Cavanaugh to post job posting on website and outside Sign. Motion Powell/Cavanaugh to adjourn. All ayes, motion carried.
