Call Meeting to Order Present: 5- Mayor Deanna R. Reed, Vice Mayor Sal Romero, Council Member Christopher B. Jones, Council Member George Hirschmann and Council Member Laura Dent Also Present: 3- City Manager Eric Campbell, City Attorney Chris Brown and Deputy City Clerk Ande Banks. 2. Welcome and Overview A. Tyler St. Clair led City Council members and staff through another review of Myers Briggs types. 3. Review/Update Council's 3-year Priorities A. Tyler St. Clair presented the amended City Council 2039 vision to the City Council members that included a new section on resiliency and the natural environment. City Council discussed the new section, proposed some additional changes, and also proposed changes to other sections of the vision document. At the end of the discussion there was consensus among City Council members that the vision reflected their aspirational view of what our City will be like in 2039. A. Tyler St. Clair presented the 2019 3-year strategic priorities to the City Council members. She discussed the purpose of the priorities as it relates to moving the City toward the 2039 vision. City Council members reviewed each priority and determined whether it has been completed or should continue over the next 3 years. City Council members also proposed new priorities. 4. The motion was made by Vice Mayor Sal Romero, seconded by Council Member George Hirschmann. The motion carried with a roll call vote taken as follows: Yes: 5- Mayor Reed, Romero, Council Member Jones, Council Member Hirschmann and Council Member Dent No: 0 6. Evaluation and Closing Remarks At 4:25 p.m., the closed session ended and the regular session reconvened. City Attorney Brown read the following statement, which was agreed to with a unanimous recorded vote of Council: I hereby certify that to the best of my knowledge (1) only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements under Chapter 37 of Title 2.2 of the Code, of Virginia, 1950, as amended, and (2) only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the closed meeting was convened were heard, discussed or considered in the closed meeting by the City Council. Recess At 4:25 p.m., Mayor Reed called the meeting into recess. At 4:35 p.m., Mayor Reed called the meeting back into session. 7.
