Meeting Called to Order I. Welcome - Obie Hill welcomed everyone to the Smithland Athletic Complex and called the meeting to order at 7:26 p.m. A special welcome back to Kevin Gibson! 2. Approval of June Meeting Minutes I. Approval of meeting minutes- Sandy Bopp made motion to approve the June minutes. Kevin Gibson seconded the motion. Director's Report & Project Updates Brian Mancini highlighted the following: a. Tour of Smithland Athletic Complex. b. Pickleball and Tennis courts refinishing completed. c. ADA accessibility is complete at Hillandale Park. d. Installing fencing on back side of Simms Center. e. Installing exit gates at Westover pool for emergency exit purposes. f. Talked with Harrisonburg City Public Schools about 7-8th grade football program. Program started. 4. Action Items 4.a. Upcoming Events Fall activity registration is open. After School Program is full, with waiting list. 4.b. Tour of the Smithland Athletic Complex All members were impressed by work completed, and what an asset the complex is to the community. No public Comment. II. PRAC Questions/Comments: a. Discussed Splash pad for Ralph Sampson Park. b. Discussed lighting and restrooms for Smithland Athletic Complex. Brian Mancini will pull together totals of each for Mayor Reed to present at work session. Discussed extended availability of athletic fields if lights installed. c. Discussed continued support for Swim by 2 programs at Westover Pool. d. Discussed potential of running program for kids to time track performance. 6. Next PRAC Meeting-September 19, 2022, at Westover Pool 7. Adjourn Meeting adjourned at 7:54 by Obie Hill.
