City of Haslet Agenda Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM [Haslet Community Center, 105 Main Street] Notice is hereby given of a Regular Meeting of the Haslet Parks and Recreation Board to be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM, at the Haslet Community Center, 105 Main Street. Members of the Public may also join the meeting remotely, by:  Teleconference: https://meet.goto.com/810957205  Phone: 1-646-749-3129 and entering access code: 810-957-205 Page 1. CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM PRESENT 2. CITIZENS PARTICIPATION AND COMMENTS An opportunity for citizens to address the Board on matters which are on the agenda or are not scheduled for consideration (non-agenda items). The Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits deliberation by the Board of any subject which is not on the posted agenda, therefore the Board will not be able to discuss or take action on items not listed on this agenda, other than to make statements of specific factual information or to recite existing policy in response to the inquiry. NOTE: In order to address the Board during this time, or later in the meeting for any item that is scheduled on the agenda, please complete, and submit a speaker card to City Secretary prior to the start of the meeting. The presiding officer may ask the speaker to hold comments on agenda items until that agenda item is reached. 3. ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST Any expressions of thanks, congratulations, or condolence; information regarding holiday schedules; honorary recognitions of city officials, employees or citizens; reminders about upcoming events sponsored by the city or other entity that is to be attended by a city official or employee; and announcements involving imminent threats to the public health and safety. 3.A. The City of Haslet General Election will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing Council Members Place One, Three, and Five. Please visit our Elections page for current information. 3.B. Brush & Limbs Drop Off Event - May 2, 2026 from 8am - Noon at Haslet Public Works Department, 791 Schoolhouse Rd. 3.C. Blood Drive - May 22, 2026, Haslet Public Library will be hosting Carter BloodCare from Noon - 4pm. 3.D. Memorial Day Event - May 25, 2026, 10am at Haslet Community Park Veterans Memorial Garden 3.E. All City Offices and the Haslet Public Library will be closed Monday, May If you have a disability that requires special arrangements and you plan to attend this public meeting, please contact the City Secretary at (817) 439-5931 within 72 hours of the meeting. Community Park - Update provided by James Tucker, Public Works Director:  Continued establishment of the newly planted trees 5.C. Veterans Memorial Garden - Update provided by James Tucker, Public Works Director:  Six bids were requested, one bid has been received to date 5.D. Nance Field - Update provided by James Tucker, Public Works Director:  At the March 16, 2026 City Council Meeting, the Council voted to install a concrete parking lot on the existing Nance Field parking lot. 5.E. Firehouse Fields - None 6. ACTION ITEMS ON EXPENDITURES AND PLANNING OF FUTURE EVENTS 6.A. Easter Egg Hunt - March 28, 2026, 4pm Update Provided:  The 26,000 eggs have been delivered and are in storage.  The Fire Department will provide special delivery for the arrival of the Easter Bunny.  There is a need for volunteers to help setting out Easter Eggs. 6.B. Memorial Day Celebration - May 25, 2026, 10 am The Board wanted to confirm that all expenses have been taken care of for this event. 6.C. Discuss holding a Christmas breakfast event at the FD Due to the nature of the day Christmas in the Park is held, there will be too many things happening. This event will not be held. 7.D. Discuss, consider and act regarding a rodeo event with Chute 2 Productions PARKS-24-2026 Moved by Sarah Nembu Seconded by Kimm Dillard Motion to not hold a rodeo event with Chute 2 Productions this year, and to revisit the event next year. Discuss, consider and act on purchase of Christmas wreaths for all city buildings A 30 inch wreath was decided to fit the community center. No quotes were ready. No action taken. 7.F. Discuss, consider and act to approve the purchase of Christmas decorations No action taken. 7.G. Discuss, consider and act to provide Park Board Chair Sarah Nembu permission to represent the Park Board at the next Library Board Meeting to discuss and present a proposal for checking out sports equipment as previously approved by the Park Board.
