City of Haslet Agenda Special HCEDC Type B Meeting Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 6:00 PM Haslet Community Center, 105 Main Street Notice is hereby given of a Special Meeting of the Haslet HCEDC Type B to be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 6:00 PM, at the Haslet Community Center, 105 Main Street. Due to new AV system unresolved technical issues, this meeting will not be video streamed nor recorded; public attendance of this meeting must be in person. 1. CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM IS PRESENT 2. CITIZENS PARTICIPATION AND COMMENTS An opportunity for citizens to address the HCEDC Board on matters which are on the agenda or are not scheduled for consideration (non-agenda items). The Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits deliberation by the Board of any subject which is not on the posted agenda, therefore the Board will not be able to discuss or take action on items not listed on this agenda, other than to make statements of specific factual information or to recite existing policy in response to the inquiry. NOTE: In order to address the HCEDC Board during this time, or later in the meeting for any item that is scheduled on the agenda, please complete, and submit a speaker card to the Staff Secretary prior to the start of the meeting. The presiding officer may ask the speaker to hold comments on agenda items until that agenda item is reached. 3. ITEMS OF COMMUNITY INTEREST Items of community interest include expressions of thanks, congratulations, or condolence; information regarding holiday schedules; honorary recognitions of city officials, employees or citizens; reminders about upcoming events sponsored by the city or other entity that is scheduled to be attended by a city official or employee; and announcements involving imminent threats to the public health and safety. 3.1. National Night Out - Tuesday, Oct 1, 2024, 6-8 pm, Haslet Community Park. This free annual community building event promotes police and fire partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Haslet Community and Economic Development Corporation reserves the right to adjourn into Executive Session during the meeting to seek legal advice from its attorney regarding any item on the posted agenda as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code. Additionally, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, the HCEDC may adjourn into Executive Session, in accordance with the authority contained in: 4.1. Section 551.072, Government Code; Deliberation regarding Real Property; purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property if deliberation in an open meeting would have detrimental effect on position of the governmental body in negotiations with a third person:  Sale of HCEDC properties 5.
