STATED TOWN BOARD MEETING NOVEMBER 27, 2018 The Town Board of the Town of Hempstead, New York, met at the Town Meeting Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York, on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. Roll was called: PRESENT: LAURA A. GILLEN, Supervisor EDWARD A. AMBROSINO, Councilman BRUCE BLAKEMAN, Councilman ANTHONY P. D'ESPOSITO, Councilman DENNIS DUNNE, SR., Councilman DOROTHY L. GOOSBY, Senior Councilwoman ERIN KING SWEENEY, Councilwoman Members of the Town Board ALSO PRESENT: SYLVIA A. CABANA, Town Clerk DOLORES SEDACCA, Deputy Town Clerk JOSEPH J. RA, Town Attorney Supervisor Gillen asked King Sweeney to lead the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. Supervisor Gillen asked everyone to remain standing for a moment of silence, for some people that were recently lost, namely, Sanitation Worker Jean Louis MacDonald, CSEA Board Member Michael B. James and Rosanna Clavin, mother of Town of Hempstead Receiver of Taxes, Donald X. Clavin, Jr. Councilwoman Goosby also wished to remember Caroline Simpkins whom assisted her with the Breast Cancer Forum. Councilman D'Esposito introduced and thanked Boy Scout Troop 230 of Oceanside who attended the Town Board Meeting, where they were earning part of their Community Service Merit Badge. The Troop also met an hour before the Town Board Meeting to discuss Town Government and exactly what the Town Board does.
