STATED TOWN BOARD MEETING FEBRUARY 5, 2 019 The Town Board of the Town of Hempstead, New York, met at the Town Meeting Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York, on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 7:00P.M. RA, Town Attorney RICHARD RAMOS, Deputy Town Comptroller Supervisor Gillen called attention to three remarkable young ladies along with recognizing their teacher Mr. Shenker and presented each of the honorees with citations. Estee Ackerman, a West Hempstead resident, was the winner of two gold medals & one bronze medal at "2018 Open Table Tennis Tournament Championships". Estee Ackerman is now the number one ranked hardback player in the United States; in addition, she is also a 202 0Olympic hopeful. Kaylie Hausknecht & Juliana Condoleo are two scientific Olympians both students are from Lynbrook High School. Kaylie and Juliana were participants in the "Regeneration Science Talent Search" the nation's most prestigious science competition. Supervisor Gillen congratulated these students on their awe inspiring achievements noting that they each have made their family, friends & the Town of Hempstead truly proud. Supervisor Gillen asked Councilman D'Esposito to lead the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag.
