DECEMBER 7, 2021
The Town Board of the Town of Hempstead, New York, met at the Town Meeting Pavilion,
Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York, on Tuesday, December 7, 2021
at 10:30 A.M.

Supervisor Clavin asked Councilman Dunne to lead the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance to our
flag.
Supervisor Clavin asked everyone to remain standing for a moment of silence for Joseph Ra, former
Councilman and former Town Attorney. The Supervisor added that he was a great friend to everybody
in the room and near and dear to anyone who has ever worked for the Town of Hempstead no matter
what you do, a great individual to help guide people and a real advocate.
Supervisor Clavin and the Town Board presented Randi Shubin Dresner with a citation and a front line
pin for the efforts ofisland Harvest through the pandemic. Randi was joined by Jaime Franchi who
does government relations with Island Harvest and Phyllis Ciccone who designed and managed the
program that allowed them to get food out into the community. Randi thanked the Town and spoke of
how successful our "Cares" grants programs with them have been in helping close to two thousand
Town of Hempstead residents who were most in need of food, support and services. Randi added that
both the funding by the Town of Hempstead and the generosity of the Councilmembers and Supervisor
Don Clavin, allowed them to support these families, children and veterans who really needed their
help. She ended by saying that together the Town of Hempstead and Island Harvest had the
opportunity to insure that no one goes hungry in the Town of Hempstead. The Supervisor thanked
Randi and her team for everything they have done.
Town Clerk Kate Murray welcomed North Hempstead Town Clerk elect Ragini Srivastava and
thanked her for joining the meeting.

Memorial Park. The Town Attorney made a recommendation for a motion to amend it. Councilman
