STATED TOWN BOARD MEETING SEPTEMBER 6, 2023 The Town Board of the Town of Hempstead, New York, met at the Town Meeting Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. Roll was called: PRESENT: DONALD X. CLAVIN, JR., Supervisor CHRISTOPHER CARINI, Councilmember DENNIS DUNNE, SR., Councihnember DOROTHY L. GOOSBY, Deputy Supervisor MELISSA L. MILLER, Councihnember THOMAS A. MUSCARELLA, Councihnember LAURA A. RYDER, Councilmember Members of the Town Board ALSO PRESENT: KATE MURRAY, Town Clerk SUSAN M. POKALSKY, Deputy Town Clerk JOHN L. MACCARONE, Town Attorney JOHN MASTROMARINO, Town Comptroller Supervisor Clavin asked Councilmember Ryder to lead the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. Supervisor Clavin asked everyone present to join in a moment of silence for JeffKruska, stating that "about a week ago the Town lost somebody special to everyone attending this meeting. JeffKruska was somebody special to everyone in this place, who worked here for decades, always smiling, and a real sweetheart. He was one of the best people you would ever want to work with and really just an all-around great human being, may God rest his soul". Town Attorney John Maccarone then addressed the Supervisor and the Town Board with regard to Item No. 15, Case No. 5035. He had received a letter from the applicant's attorney requesting an adjournment of the hearing to October 3, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., as certain items on the site plan need to be finalized. The Town Attorney then recommended the adjournment so that residents would not have to wait unnecessarily for the item to be called. Councilmember Miller then made a motion to adjourn this item until the October 3'd meeting.
